Recently, Wonkun Jun has been working with monochrome gradient works, whose process of creation follows a strict pattern: In the first step, the application of paint becomes denser and stronger towards the bottom. Only in the second step are the works reversed, so that they now appear lighter in the lower part, while the upper part has a strong color saturation. The different color saturations are reminiscent of the cushion paintings of the Düsseldorf artist Gotthard Graubner, whom Wonkun Jun knew personally.
