In the exhibition we show works by three female artists and one male artist. The four exhibitors have already been represented in well-known houses and prove in the current show that even with small formats large effects can be achieved. Wonkun Jun comes from South Korea, Maria Wallenstal-Schoenberg from Sweden. They have academic art studies in common with their two German colleagues Susanne Stähli and Ines Hock. Another connection arises on the level of content: all four represent varieties of concrete-conceptual art. This is not about a mimetic form of imitating nature in art, but rather “about the thing itself”. This means color and form, material and ductus are vitalized by the artistic action. In this way, the power of painting can be experienced by the viewer not only visually, but equally through rhythm and materiality in a more comprehensive way.
